Wheel truing and spokes
Buckles trued, broken spokes replaced, tension evened out — and hub play caught early.
“Wobble” covers two entirely different faults, and separating them is the whole job. One lives in the rim, one in the hub, and work done on the wrong one is wasted.
The hub case is the one that matters financially. A hub allowed to run with play grinds its own bearing surfaces, and the cost escalates from an adjustment to a new wheel surprisingly quickly. It takes ten seconds to check and it is worth doing before you book anything.
Sand and hub seals
Fine sand gets past hub seals faster here than most riders expect. A hub that has been through a few desert rides without service can develop play early — that is a maintenance interval question rather than a fault, but it is why we check hubs on every wheel job rather than only when asked.

When this is not the job you need
A repair business that only ever says "book it in" is not worth trusting on anything else. These are the cases where you should not.
- A small wobble that does not rub the brake is not urgent — it will get worse, but it is not a today problem.
- Play at the hub is a bearing job. Truing will not touch it and doing so first wastes your money.
- A cracked rim cannot be trued back. That is a rebuild or a replacement, and we will say so.

How much does wheel truing cost in Dubai?
AED 60, which covers truing and replacing a broken spoke. If several spokes have failed or the rim is cracked, we will quote a rebuild instead rather than charging you for work that will not hold.
Can a buckled wheel always be fixed?
Most can. Truing stops being worth doing when the rim is cracked, badly dented, or worn thin from years of rim braking. We check for all three before starting and tell you if it is a rebuild.
Is it the wheel or the hub?
Spin the wheel and watch a fixed point: side-to-side movement as it turns is the rim. Then hold the rim still and push it toward the frame — a knock is the hub. They need completely different work.
