BikeSmith is a mobile bicycle workshop in Dubai. We fix bikes at people's homes and offices, publish what we charge, and tell you the price before anyone gets in a van.

How we work

We quote before we travel

Send a photo on WhatsApp and you get a price for the work before anyone sets off. The usual arrangement in this city is that a mechanic arrives, looks at the bike, and quotes while standing in your car park — which is a difficult moment to say no in. We would rather have that conversation before either of us has spent the afternoon.

Every price is published

The price list shows what we charge for each job alongside what the same work costs elsewhere in Dubai. Parts are charged at cost, and we tell you the part price before fitting rather than after.

We will tell you when you do not need us

A good part of what arrives as "my bike needs a service" is a ten-minute adjustment. The symptom pages on this site are written so you can work that out yourself, including the cases where the answer is that nothing is wrong. A repair business that only ever says "bring it in" is not worth trusting on anything else.

We are measuring things properly

Almost all bicycle maintenance advice online was written for northern Europe, where the problem is rain. Here it is heat, UV and sand, and the failure pattern is different. We are running our own studies on what components actually last in this climate rather than repeating intervals from a temperate-climate manual. Those pages publish the method now and the numbers as they arrive.
